Kiwanis Krash Demolition Derby
The Kiwanis Krash Demolition Derby, is held each April at the Avi Resort Hotel and Casino. Local drivers, as well as drivers from
throughout the Southwest compete in this family-fun event.
In addition to exciting car smashing action, great food and beverages,
discount room packages at the Avi and a chance to win cash are always on tap.
The next Kiwanis Krash Demolition Derby will be held

Kiwanis Hair-Raising Service Project
Each of the 126 Kiwanis Clubs in the Southwest District were encouraged to contact the beauty salons, barber shops and pet groomers
in their area to encourage them to save their hair clippings from May 20, 2010 through June 7, 2010.
The Clubs then collected the
clippings and shipped them to a volunteer group that will make them into booms that can be used to soak up oil that is spewing
into the Gulf of Mexico.
The Morning Club collected 75 pounds of hair and spent $106 to ship it to Lousiana.
